Where can I download PhotoCraft?

Use the official PhotoCraft v0.12.0 release for the native app. The links below go directly to files published by storytold/photocraft on GitHub. This independent site does not repackage them. The listed desktop and launcher releases were checked on 2026-10-22; they are fixed links, not a live claim about the newest version.

For Windows ARM64 or x86, use the Windows download guide. For installation details, see Mac or Linux. The PhotoCraft SHA256 list belongs to this exact release.

What is ArtCraft Launcher?

The button above downloads ArtCraft Launcher v0.6.1 for macOS. It is a separate app for finding, installing, updating and opening Crafting Apps. It is not the PhotoCraft installer or the v0.12.0 browser package. For other launcher platforms, use its own release page and match the file to your operating system and processor.

Keep the products and their checksums separate: PhotoCraft v0.12.0 and Launcher v0.6.1 have different files and release histories. The Crafting Apps guide explains the app family.

Is PhotoCraft a free software download?

PhotoCraft is open source, with code under MIT or Apache-2.0 and separate terms for third-party assets and branding. You can download the upstream files or use the free PhotoCraft online editor without a PhotoCraft account or subscription. “Free download” does not certify a file's safety or make every similarly named app part of the project. See project identity and download safety.

Is there a PhotoCraft portable app?

Yes: the listed Windows release includes portable ZIP files. Choose the correct architecture, extract the complete archive and run the app from the extracted folder rather than from inside the ZIP. The portable instructions cover first launch and updating. A portable desktop download is different from using an editor on a website.

How do I update PhotoCraft?

Save your documents and close the native app before replacing it. For an installed desktop copy, choose the newer release for the same operating system and architecture and follow its installer instructions. For a portable copy, extract the newer archive into a separate folder, test it with a document copy and preserve your previous folder until you have verified your work.

Launcher-managed apps have a separate update flow. The Launcher v0.6.1 documentation describes checking app versions and installing available updates; the launcher itself offers Update and restart. This is not an update control for the editor embedded on this site. Our web editor remains pinned to v0.12.0: refreshing or installing a desktop release does not upgrade it. The update section of the usage guide separates these cases.

Can I use PhotoCraft on a phone?

The Android and mobile guide distinguishes the ArtCraft project from same-name store apps. Trying this site's browser editor needs no APK or account, but its original English interface is designed for a desktop workspace. Browser graphics support, touch controls, memory and file downloads vary by device. We do not present a native Android package as an official download here.

What should I do after downloading?

Check the repository, version, filename, architecture and published checksum before opening a file. A matching checksum checks integrity, not safety certification. For the pinned browser editor, start with a small local image and follow how to use PhotoCraft. Save or export before refreshing: the hosted v0.12.0 build has no autosave or crash recovery.

Verify a file before installation

Download the checksum list from the same product and release as the file you selected. Locate the exact filename in that list. On Windows, PowerShell's Get-FileHash can compute SHA256; on macOS use shasum -a 256; on Linux use sha256sum. Supply your actual downloaded path and compare the complete digest. A checksum from another version or from Launcher is not a valid reference for PhotoCraft.

If the digest differs, do not run the package. Check for an incomplete download, a mistaken filename or a different release, then retrieve the file again from the identified upstream source. A match establishes agreement with the published bytes, not a guarantee that the software is free of vulnerabilities. Check operating-system signature information and release requirements separately. The platform guides describe these checks without asking you to disable system protections.

Keep a download and installation record

Write down the product, release tag, operating system, architecture, filename, source URL and checksum result. This small record makes an update or support request easier to explain. A screenshot of a search result is not equivalent to the actual release page or artifact identity. Keep document backups outside the installation folder so replacing an app does not become your only document-retention plan.

Our links identify specific checked releases. They are not an automatic promise that the linked version is currently the newest or suitable for every device. A future upstream release can change requirements or signing status. Review its own notes before upgrading. If a filename or checksum disappears, report the broken reference rather than substituting a similarly named download from an unrelated site.

Decide between browser and native using the task

The browser editor is useful for trying the documented small PNG workflow without installation. A native app is a different environment and requires its own test for your files and operating system. Desktop availability does not establish browser feature parity, and a website's mobile layout does not establish a native Android package. Use a representative copy and inspect output before moving an important workflow to either environment.

The hosted browser build does not provide cloud documents or recovery. When choosing it, include explicit downloads and backup checks in the workflow. When choosing a desktop package, include source verification, first launch and a saved-file check. These practical acceptance steps are more useful than deciding from the word “free,” the file size or the familiarity of the product name.
