PhotoCraft Online privacy and local image handling

Learn what stays in your browser, what the server receives and what browser storage is used by the self-hosted PhotoCraft editor.

Who is responsible and how to contact us

This policy concerns photocraft.tools, an independent resource site maintained under the public name “photocraft.tools maintainer.” Contact hi@photocraft.tools about this website's handling of information or an applicable privacy request. This is not the privacy policy of ArtCraft, Adobe, GitHub or an unrelated application with a similar name.

Images and documents stay in the browser

The hosted PhotoCraft v0.12.0 editor opens local files through browser file access or drag-and-drop and processes their bytes locally in WebAssembly. Saving and exporting create files downloaded to your device. This website has no image-upload endpoint, accounts, cloud document storage, paid subscriptions or public image gallery.

We do not send image contents or local filenames to website analytics. Local processing is not a backup: the pinned browser release has no autosave or crash recovery. Keep originals and save before closing, reloading or changing renderers. Clearing browser data cannot recover unsaved work, and the maintainer has no server copy to restore.

Necessary website requests

Your browser requests pages, fonts, scripts and editor assets from the hosting service. The site is delivered through Cloudflare. Ordinary request processing can involve an IP address, browser information, requested URL and technical security or error information. This supports delivery, reliability and protection against abuse; it is separate from uploading a document for editing.

Do not put private information into a page URL or query string. Hosting systems can receive requested URLs even when analytics requests are blocked. Cloudflare's processing is described in its privacy policy. Operational log retention depends on the actual service configuration; contact the maintainer for current retention details rather than assuming this site deletes all request metadata immediately.

Cookies and browser storage

Language selection uses the first-party PARAGLIDE_LOCALE cookie. The editor can retain preferences in localStorage. These preferences are not a cloud copy of your document. Browser settings let you inspect or remove cookies and site storage, but removing them can reset the interface and language preferences.

The website no longer stores or reads an analytics consent choice. A pc-consent-v1 entry from the previous implementation may remain in browser storage until you clear it; it is no longer used to control analytics.

Website analytics

We load Google Analytics 4 and self-hosted Plausible at view.morpha.dev when you visit the website, without a website-managed analytics permission prompt. These services measure page visits and can receive page URLs, referring pages, campaign parameters, browser and device information. We do not send image contents, local filenames, contact-message text or custom user identifiers to analytics. The website configuration disables Google Signals and advertising personalization signals.

Google Analytics can set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_…. See Google's partner-site information and privacy policy. Plausible uses cookie-free measurement at our self-hosted endpoint. That design does not make ordinary requests anonymous to every network or service involved.

Browser controls and analytics questions

You can control cookies and tracking requests through browser settings or content-blocking tools. Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. These controls are provided by your browser or the relevant service; this website no longer provides an analytics accept/reject panel. Blocking measurement requests does not require uploading images or changing how local files are edited.

Removing cookies does not itself prevent later collection and does not automatically erase information already processed. Analytics retention is governed by the configured GA4 and self-hosted Plausible settings. This policy does not assert an unverified fixed retention period. Ask the maintainer for details or an applicable rights request.

Contact messages and external services

If you email us, the information you choose to include is processed by our mailbox and email service to respond, investigate a correction or handle your request. We keep correspondence as needed for that purpose and legitimate recordkeeping, rather than using it to create an advertising audience. Do not send confidential image files or credentials. We do not promise a fixed email response time.

Links and downloads can lead to GitHub, ArtCraft, community services or other sites with their own policies. Clicking an external link leaves this website's control. This site currently has no public comments or user submissions. We do not automatically publish email messages or their attachments.

Advertising, location and children

We are preparing photocraft.tools for Google AdSense. No AdSense ad code is currently active. When advertising is enabled, third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.

Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to this and/or other sites. Users can manage personalized advertising through My Ad Center. Information about how Google uses data from partner sites is available at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services. Before advertising is enabled for users in regions that require consent, we will use a Google-certified consent management platform. Advertising consent will be managed through Google AdSense Privacy & messaging, rather than a custom analytics panel. We do not request precise device location or build custom audiences from sensitive personal characteristics.

The site provides general image-editing resources and is not specifically directed to children. Do not send children's personal information or images by email. If you believe we have received information requiring special handling, contact the maintainer with enough context to investigate without sending additional unnecessary personal information.

Rights, international processing and changes

Depending on where you live and which rules apply, you may have rights to request information, access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, to object to certain processing, or to withdraw consent. Applicable California rights can include requests about collection, disclosure, sale or sharing. This website does not operate a customer-list sale or custom audience-sharing workflow; when advertising is enabled, personalized-advertising choices will be available through the consent controls and Google's ad settings described above.

Hosting, Google services and email can involve processing outside your country. The relevant providers describe their processing and safeguards in their policies. This page does not claim that every service is confined to one region. Contact hi@photocraft.tools to exercise applicable rights or raise a concern. You may also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority.

We may need proportionate information to locate and verify a request; do not send identity documents unsolicited. Updated practices should be reflected here and in the website changelog. The contact page explains useful request details, and the editorial policy explains how published statements are supported.
