PhotoCraft for Android: Official Releases & Namesake Apps

Looking for PhotoCraft on Android? Check the ArtCraft project’s release status, distinguish same-name Play Store apps and understand the browser editor’s limits.

Release and app identity checked 18 October 2026. Availability can change; follow the linked upstream release record before downloading.

Is there an official PhotoCraft Android download?

The ArtCraft PhotoCraft README and v0.9.0 release record reviewed for this guide list desktop and web distribution, without an Android APK or a Google Play listing identified as an official release there. That is the scope of this check, not a claim that Android development cannot exist. Repository work or an Android build workflow alone would not establish a supported public mobile release.

Start from the official storytold/photocraft repository and its linked product website. If a future release adds Android, check the published package, developer identity and installation instructions there. The download guide links to upstream releases and existing desktop choices.

What about PhotoCraft on Google Play?

Google Play lists an app called PhotoCraft AI: Edit & Art, package com.bbg.photocraft. At our check, it listed the developer name Phạm Văn Quang and support details separate from the ArtCraft project's linked sources. Its description promotes AI photo features. Those store details do not establish an affiliation with the open-source ArtCraft editor.

Do not assume the name, an icon or a search result means the apps share code, licensing, privacy practices or accounts. Review the store's developer and policy links for that app. The project identity guide explains which PhotoCraft this site covers. We do not host an APK or label a same-name store app as an official ArtCraft download.

Can I use the web editor from an Android browser?

The browser editor serves the original desktop-style v0.12.0 WebAssembly app, not a native Android app. It needs a compatible graphics and browser environment and enough memory. WebGPU or WebGL2 support, file pickers and touch behavior vary by browser and device. The CPU renderer is a troubleshooting option, not a promise of usable performance.

The surrounding site adapts to phone widths, but the original editor's panels remain designed around a larger workspace. Our phone-width Chromium check is not testing on every Android phone. Prefer a larger screen, try a small image first and verify that your browser can download and reopen the output.

Files, saving and installation claims

No account or APK installation is needed to try the hosted browser build. Images are edited locally, with ordinary website and analytics requests described in the safety guide. The pinned build has no browser autosave or crash recovery, so save before leaving or changing renderers. We do not promise offline installation or native mobile integration.

For what we actually checked in the browser, read the v0.12.0 review. For Mac or Linux, the platform guides cover upstream native packages rather than Android emulation.

Verify identity before looking for an APK

A package name, publisher and provenance are more informative than a product-name match. Start from the upstream repository or its linked product page and follow its distribution links outward. If a store page is not linked as an official distribution, do not infer affiliation from a similar icon or an AI-themed description. A repository build workflow is also different from a supported public download.

This site does not distribute an Android APK. Avoid random APK mirrors that present a desktop project's name as proof of authenticity. If upstream later identifies a mobile release, check its own requirements, package identity and privacy information at that time. The existing desktop download records do not establish a native Android release simply because they are newer than the browser version.

Try the browser route as a separate workflow

On a phone, first use a small synthetic input with no personal content. Wait for the actual editor canvas, import the file using the available browser controls and attempt one visible edit. Export and locate the downloaded file before spending time on a larger task. A page that fits your screen can still contain an editor whose controls are difficult to use with touch.

Check the downloaded image in a separate viewer and reopen a saved checkpoint. Mobile browser memory management can end a background tab, so save before switching applications. Do not assume the Back button, tab restoration or a page added to the home screen provides recovery. The hosted version still has no autosave or cloud document copy.

Record the device conditions that matter

Write down the device model, Android version, browser version, selected renderer and input dimensions. Note whether the issue concerns opening the file picker, touching a tool, canvas rendering or finding a download. These are different stages. A phone-width desktop Chromium test does not exercise every stage on physical Android hardware.

For a reproducible problem, compare with the same synthetic image in another compatible browser only after preserving completed downloads. Keep the input and operation unchanged so the comparison means something. Do not publish a universal performance claim based on one device, and do not disable browser security features to imitate desktop behavior. If the task needs precise work, a larger verified workspace may be the practical choice.

Keep app permissions and website behavior distinct

An unrelated store app can request its own permissions and use its own remote services. The local-processing statements on this website do not describe that app. Read its publisher information, permission prompts and privacy policy before granting access to photographs. Installing a same-name app does not connect it to the document running in this website's editor.

For the hosted editor, optional website measurement remains separate from image processing and can be refused. Follow the PNG tutorial and backup guide for a limited browser exercise, and contact the website maintainer about misleading links. Report native-app questions to the actual publisher identified by that app's distribution channel rather than assuming all PhotoCraft names refer to one organization.
